Penny Pinch, Pay Day or Pricey: Art Deco Heels

In-between all the florals and pastels coming up for S/S12, I’ve spotted a few art deco treats popping up in the ends of A/W11 here and there. It’s a tricky style to make look interesting, since it usually involves a lot of black, metallics or bottle greens, but I’ve managed to find three pairs with the same art deco look. Only the prices are different…

Penny Pinch: Charlotte Russe Ankle Wrap Heels – $32.50

I absolutely love these ankle straps, imagine them with a holiday tan! The back of the heel looks like it’s really cushioned and supportive too, so I’d love to see if that’s true. These are so glam they’d look amazing with a pencil skirt, maxi dress or 3/4 trousers. Plus, if you sign up to the Charlotte Russe newsletter you’ll get 10% off – bargain!

Pay Day: Bailey by French Connection at Sarenza – £110

Get these quick before they sell out because they’ve been hugely popular! There’s not too much glitz on these, which takes them out of stripper territory, and they’re French Connection (who do art deco like no other). The straps look like they’d be really soft, which is great because there’s nothing worse than a course strap rubbing like crazy, and that heel…oh, that heel. Fabulous.

Pricey: Ophelie by Gucci – £900

I know…I know, they’re a work of art. My favourite part is the heel – it looks just like a column you’d find in a speakeasy. The brass metal chains are fabulous too. In fact, every little detail on these shoes are brilliant, down to the split peep toe and python print along the back heel. Pure brilliance from Gucci in their art deco collection, we are not worthy!
